Duties of Committees (See by-laws for official duties)

Nominating Committee:
At the summer meeting, the Nominating Committee shall nominate: 1. The slate of officers to serve for the ensuing year—president, vice-president, and secretary-treasurer. 2. The ACTS Committee, composed of six (6) voting members (including the president of NASTA) and three (3) alternates who will serve in the absence of any of the regularly appointed members.

Time and Place Committee:
The Time and Place Committee shall recommend to the association a time and place for succeeding meetings.

Resolutions Committee:
The Resolutions Committee shall prepare appropriate resolutions and present them to the association for consideration.

Policy Committee:
The Policy Committee shall become knowledgeable of national events and legislation that impact the association and make necessary contacts to gain information pertinent to NASTA, make efforts to get NASTA efforts recognized nationally, implement outreach efforts in order to attract additional members, and examine survey results in order to make recommendations to the association membership. (Issues include but are not limited to: NIMAS legislation, national standards, national editions of textbooks, discussions of uniquely printed barcodes on textbooks).

By-Laws Committee:
The By-Laws committee shall review NASTA By-Laws and rules of procedures annually and make recommendations based on those findings.

Technology and Education:
The Technology and Education committee shall compile and disseminate information concerning digital learning content and the impact of technology on the National Association of State Textbook Administrators (NASTA) as well as implications for NASTA's leadership role in the Advisory Commission on Textbook Specifications (ACTS). A primary responsibility of the Technology and Education committee shall be explore and report back on standards and organizations that would help NASTA and ACTS develop manufacturing standards and specifications for digital content.
